I wanted my home to be an amalgamation of different eras; I wanted the apartment to look spacious with the right colours, design and feel’.
The apartment spans across 4,500 sq. ft., representing the client’s vision of the home environment she set out to create -- plush, traditional, yet understated.
The dining room, which has easy access to the kitchen and an abundance of natural light from large sliding doors to the balconies on either side of the apartment, maintains a visually stylized connection to the living room.
Eclectically mixing finishes and fabrics in a harmonious amalgam of woven ETRO fabrics, beautifully selected Persian style carpets, lush velvet curtains, lead crystal chandeliers, silver leafed dado rails and ceiling details, Venetian glass mirrors, crystal decorative vases and bowls, ornate silver candelabras, lead crystal decanters, Murano glass and a collection of antique artwork from the Mughal and Kangra period make up this apartment in a stunning manner.
Beige suede panels and antique mirrors were used in the corridor to lend lightness and opulence to the entrance lobby. Furnishings in deep rich hues with contrasting highlights and fabrics contrast brilliantly with the otherwise natural tones. Carefully selected paintings were chosen according to their tones to build upon the existing colour palate along with the rich Italian marble flooring.
Continuing from the formal living and dining areas, the secondary living space with its smallerarea, darker tones and rich fabrics differentiate the colour scheme and feel of the spaces. With luxuriously woven fabrics and supple Italian leathers, this space gives a feeling of timeless comfort and class.
